Keeping in touch
We like to keep our parents/carers, children and local community up to date with all the latest school news and information. Our main forms of communication are below.
Our Website - www.thearches.cheshire.sch.uk
Information about the curriculum, school policies and generally important information can all be accessed via our school website. We always welcome feedback on our website so if there is something you would like to see please get in touch.
As well as our website, we love to showcase our children's achievements and share important events and information on our main school twitter feed @ArchesSchool If you use Twitter give us a follow! We also have a PTA twitter account @TheArchesPTA and finally, a twitter feed for all things Computing - @ArchesComputing
As well as Twitter, The Arches also has their own facebook page which like other social media outlets, update parents/carers with excited news, events and general information. If you're a Facebook member, like our page and check it out - The Arches Community Primary School.
Parent/Carer Consultation Meetings
We hold parent/carer meetings every term. We believe that this provides you with the best opportunity to discuss individual's progress with class teachers. Additional, more specialised appointments are also available on a termly basis for specifically parents of SEN children. These can be organised closer to the time with Miss Johnson, our SENCO, or Mrs Wilkins, Head of Enhanced Provision. Appointments can be made via our website. We are also happy to arrange meetings with individual parents/carers at a convenient time throughout the year if there are any matters you wish to discuss. In this instance, please speak with the class teacher or the school office to arrange.
School gateway is our school app that we ask all parents/carers to download. Here, payments for trips/snack/lunch and alike can be made - we now do not accept any cash payments and all payments must be made through this app. Please contact the school office if you experience any difficulties with the app.
If you would like to access this via your internet browser, please access https://login.schoolgateway.com/0/auth/login
We regularly send home letters regarding sports tournaments, trips, news, and events. Please make sure you read the letters carefully and return any permission slips promptly. Copies of all letters sent home can be found within the 'Newsletters' section of the 'Parents' tab.
Half termly parent/carer curriculum leaflets
Each half term, parents/carers will receive a curriculum leaflet from the class teacher of their child's class. This document outlines all of the objectives that are being taught within each subject and the curriculum coverage for that half term. This document will be updated and sent out half termly and is attached to the home page of every class page on our website.
Assemblies and Productions
All classes participate in a range of assemblies, productions and performances throughout the year. These include; nativity performances, weekly assemblies, Year 6 leavers production, music performances and much more! We also attend performances and workshops that take place outside school.
Annual Pupil Reports
All parents will receive a detailed report of their child's progress and attainment over the year during the second half of the Summer term. Discussions will obviously be had throughout the year durnig termly parents' evenings and meetings with teaching staff. This end of year report focuses on all curriculum subjects as well as reporting on aspects such as attendance, learning behavior and effort. This will be handed out at the Parent Teacher Conference Day in July.
Foundation Stage 2
At The Arches, we love to hear about what your child has been learning and the way in which these skills have been developed or practised outside school. For FS2 in particular, this is a lovely way of staff being able to see how they are growing and developing and how early learning goals may have been achieved. If you would like to get in contact with FS2 staff to share these moments, please either write them down and hand to staff or send an email to email@example.com
