Welcome to 2CW!

Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a lovely Christmas break with your families.

We have lots of fun and exciting learning planned for our fabulous Year 2 learners this Spring term!

We are particularly excited for our class residential trip to Delamere Forest!

We hope the information will help you support your child’s learning!

Key Information

Home Reading and Home Learning

 New books will be handed out on a Friday. Children will get one phonetically decodable book which has been matched to their current development and has been practised in school.   They will also receive a reading-for-pleasure book which they have chosen themselves.

Home learning will be sent out every Thursday and should be returned by the following Tuesday. There will be a spelling practice sheets which consists of spellings they learnt in school the week before. There will also be a piece of maths learning.

PE

Children need to bring in a P.E. kit every Tuesday. Please make sure your child has a bag with a kit consisting of a clean school polo shirt, black pumps and black shorts or leggings. School hoodies can be worn for PE when the weather is cooler.

Children can bring in a water bottle. This will be sent home daily so that it can be cleaned.

Thursday 5th March 2026 - World book day (Pupils can dress up as a character of their choice)

Wednesday 11th March 2026 - Parents evening

Friday 20th March 2026 - Red nose day (Own clothes day)
