Safeguarding
At The Arches Community Primary School, we are committed to protecting children from abuse, neglect, and harm while promoting their wellbeing in a safe learning environment. Our safeguarding procedures include: child protection measures, safer recruitment of staff and regular staff training. Safeguarding also covers online safety and the Prevent Duty to protect students from radicalisation. We operate under legal frameworks such as the Children Acts, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), and the Education Act 2002 to ensure effective safeguarding practices are in place. Our school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Mrs Katy Popplestone) responsible for handling concerns, and all staff are trained to recognise and report signs of abuse. In addition to our Designated Safeguarding Lead, we have a Safeguarding Team, consisting of our Senior Leadership Team. Our Link Safeguarding Govenor is our Chair of Govenors, Sheila Little.
